Beautiful (muddy) Days.

The weather didn’t look bad to start with and most of the weather sites said there was a small possibility that it might be sunny. By all accounts it wasn’t as muddy as Glastonbury (which makes you wonder about the sanity of those who went to Glastonbury really), but it was bad enough. Maybe it’s my age.

It really does take some of the fun out of being at a festival and oddly enough I don’t feel like I’ve been to a festival although the mud caked on my boots and tent are proof that I have been to one. Also I have the t-shirt.

I have to say though given the conditions the organisers and site crew did a great job, even the toilets were better this year (difficult conditions being taken into account). The acts are what I go for though, and the food, especially the Pies, and I am always spoilt for choice at Beautiful Days.

Getting things off to an excellent start on the Friday evening were The Levellers Acoustic. Judging by the overflowing big top, I hope if they open the festival next year they go on the “big” stage.
